Vegan Dauphinoise: Baked potatoes in white sauce

If you’ve been following us, you already know this is going to be a delicious post! Today, we’re presenting our Vegan Dauphinoise: Baked potatoes in white sauce – a super easy yet complex and absolutely delicious recipe for all the potato lovers out there!

INGREDIENTS:

🌱2 kg of potatoes

🌱500 ml vegetable milk

🌱300 g vegan cheese

🌱200 gr vegan feta cheese

🌱300 gr smoked tofu

🌱Salt & pepper to taste

🌱A few thyme twigs

How to prepare it:

  1. First, slice the potatoes into super thin pieces. A grater will do the job perfectly for you. Then let the potato chips in water, while you start preparing the vegan white sauce
  2. For the sauce, you will need to mix the vegetable milk with the grated vegan cheese and the grated vegan feta.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and mix the sauce well
  4. In an oven dish, place a layer of vegan white sauce, one of potato chips, one of crumbled smoked tofu and 1-2 thyme twigs for flavour
  5. Repeat the steps, layering nicely all the ingredients and finish with the white sauce on top
  6. Season with pepper, cover the dish with an aluminium foil and bake everything in the oven for 60 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius
  7. After 1 hour, remove the aluminium foil and let the potatoes in the oven for 30 more minutes to get a nice crust
